SustainEU
Embracing the Digital and Green challenge of the Next Generations
About the project
The post-pandemic world will be constructed upon a new digital and green society, and new generations will be at the forefront. However, it is still unclear for young generations what these changes mean and how they should be addressed to create a more technological and environmental friendly society. The Next Generation EU will drive the EU and its citizens to a new, digitalized and greener Europe. Above all, sustainability will be a key element.
SustainEU will help participants not only to understand and embrace these challenges, but also to enhance their competences and knowledge. The target group of our project is composed by young and local people, specifically university and postgraduate students (20-28 years old).
Why?
Sustainability is and will be a key element for Europe’s future. Young people will be requested to face the digital and green challenges related to sustainability, and we cannot have them unprepared. Therefore, we aim at drawing, understanding and sharing out young people’s desires and ideas for a greener and more technological future. But SEU is not a project based merely on education and communication, we are willing to do more: the analysis of the data gathered will be used to draft and create a policy paper that will be essential to raise awareness of policymakers on the wishes of young Europeans.
Our project wants truly to make an impact on young generations, informing them on the EU and on what the Union is achieving and will achieve in the next future. Having more young people informed will ensure that no one will be left behind.
SustainEU aims at...
- Strengthening the knowledge and training of young people on the new digital and green challenges.
- Informing policymakers at national and European level, in order to let them understand what is the idea that will drive the EU for the next decade.
What are SustainEU’s purposes?
Educating and supporting young citizens to understand what is sustainability and which are the implications from the digital and green perspective.
Raising awareness and enhancing knowledge on the concept of sustainability as a new European value, in order to contribute further to a stronger and balanced European integration.
Reaching policymakers at national and European levels.
