Training activities for university students and older people in Coimbra

After the realisation of the report “Digital Literacy of Older People”, the partners of the Digital Life Learning project had the mission to design a methodology and a toolkit to train university students on how to support older people in improving their digital literacy.

The pilot phase of the training activities is taking place in Coimbra, organised by the project partners from Portugal, Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra and Instituto Pedro Nunes, in collaboration with the University of Coimbra, Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra and Instituto Superior Miguel Torga.

The training will be divided into two parts: the first dedicated to the training of students and the second to the training of older people. The student training will be delivered by experienced trainers and will consist of e-learning modules and face-to-face teaching, while the training activities for older people will be delivered by the trained students to help them develop the digital skills they lack.

At the end of the training, the students will have their competences certified through micro-credentials issued by the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
