After the success of its first edition in 2021, garagErasmus Foundation and the Italian National Agency Erasmus+ INDIRE are launching the second Italian edition of THE + OF ERASMUS by offering many activities to all the incoming students in Italy and Italian outgoing ones that unequivocally underline the value, even in a difficult period, of the studies and internships carried out thanks to Erasmus+: online lessons of Italian language & culture (THE ACCELERATOR), webinars on job-hunting for exchange students to help them searching their first job (LEARNING GARAGE) and blind job interviews with recruiters valueing international experiences (TALENTS MATCH).
The COVID-19 situation has disrupted professional and academic activities around the world during the last two years, and has inevitably affected all the activities and projects supported by the Erasmus+ programme of the EU. The pandemic & travel restrictions affected the most crucial aspect of mobility -sociality- and closed campuses and social distancing prevented many Erasmus+ students from carrying out their exchanges. Even though 2022 is marking a turning point, restrictions are still commonplace in most EU countries and we would like to offer more and more support to these students who were brave enough to keep going on Erasmus.
Moreover, the European Year of Youth and the 35th anniversary of the most emblemantic programme of the European Union, Erasmus+ mark two special milestones to be commemorated: during our exchanges we learnt the most important lessons of our lives, and we would like to make our contribution to its future development and ensure that the next generation of Europeans’ future is not deeply affected by all the restrictions caused by the pandemic: a hard but extremely encouraging challenge!
The + of Erasmus Project is also doing its bit to support and relaunch the image of Italy, one of the most popular destinations in Europe which was deeply affected by the COVID-19 outbreak during Spring 2020, providing targeted actions for Italian universities to fully recover their image among international students.
ACTIVITIES
The Accelerator
Online training lessions of Italian language & culture, including aspects such as habits, customs and even Italian cuisine, with the amazing team of language teachers of the Dante Alighieri Language Institute of Recanati.
When?
9 lessons of 4h each between 7 April & 5 May 2022 (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 17.00-19.00 CEST)
Learning Garage
Five training sessions with job market specialists, who will offer relevant advice to Erasmus+ exchange students on how to approach the job market in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When?
5 lessons in May 2022 (16-20 May)
Talents Match
Companies will be invited in a virtual room with international talents and Italian exchange students to have a “blind interview”: recruiters will have no information about candidates and candidates will have 10’ to persuade the recruiter to get back in touch with him/her for a full interview.
