Held at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, this full-day conference gathered a diverse range of stakeholders—from EU policy-makers and university leaders to housing providers and student organisations.

Organised by the Erasmus Student Network in partnership with the Politecnico di Milano and the HOME² consortium, the event tackled one of the most pressing challenges for students studying abroad: access to quality, affordable, and reliable housing.

Throughout the day, participants took part in high-level discussions on housing accessibility, quality standards, and affordability. The sessions explored how digital tools and quality labels can help create a more inclusive and trustworthy student housing market, and shared policy recommendations aimed at supporting students, higher education institutions, and housing providers across Europe.

garagErasmus was there to represent the voice of the Erasmus Generation and contribute to building fairer, student-centred solutions. The conference also provided an excellent opportunity to present and develop ideas on a project currently in development: a garagErasmus-led initiative to offer affordable and community-driven accommodation for Erasmus students.
