The Erasmus+ Generation Online Meeting Point will include all those parties which are involved in this famous mobility programme: students, former students, professors, institutions, MEPs and student organizations of the 28 Member States of the European Union. It’s the online community that the European Commission and the garagErasmus Foundation – the professional network of European talents – presented at the prestigious European Parliament in Strasbourg to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus+ Programme, alongside many other delegations from all EU Member States.
Hosted on WeTipp platform, this community has far-reaching goals: its aim is to develop debates launched by those participants who are involved in mobility programmes, especially former Erasmus students, and to collect observations and propositions which could help to improve the mobility project that young university students love the most.
Wheels are already in motion for the future of Erasmus: the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport sent out positive signals in view of the new programme which, between 2020 and 2027, is supposed to make the dreams of other millions of young Europeans come true: “Our goals is to double the funds intended for Erasmus+ in the next seven years and therefore to increase the investments of the European Union to 30 billion Euros (compared to 14.7 Euros invested between 2014-2020). Erasmus+ is one of the EU’s most powerful tools. But to continue to improve its relevance and effectiveness, we must develop it in cooperation with all stakeholders. This online space offers European citizens the concrete opportunity to build Erasmus+ and the Europe of tomorrow”, Commissioner Navracsics explained.
