Today, garagErasmus participated in the 2nd European Education and Innovation Summit, which brought together higher education institutions, academics, innovators and entrepreneurs to discuss education and innovation as drivers of skills development in the context of 2023 European Year of Skills.

The aim of the Summit was to strengthen cooperation and inspire stakeholders to promote an entrepreneurial and innovative culture in Europe, playing a role in the skills revolution and highlighting the importance of universities and innovation stakeholders joining forces.

The event saw the participation of many university alliances working to create a network of innovative universities to enhance new innovative education models promoting transnational cooperation, learning labs, innovation hubs, incubators and accelerators for developing students entrepreneurial skills and micro-credential recognition in former education.

Born as a professional network of the Erasmus generation, garagErasmus Foundation has always believed in the importance of cooperation between universities and companies. It has developed more links with universities and companies, worked on EU-funded projects focusing on micro-credentials and entrepreneurial skills development and joined the ENHANCE Alliance as an associate partner, an alliance of ten technical universities driving change in science, technology and society.

The summit was presented as a catalyst for future cooperation between education and innovation stakeholders and aimed to promote a mix of innovation and entrepreneurial skills in the education system, a theme of the European Strategy for Universities within the European Education Area

For its part, garagErasmus will continue to work on this issue with the members of the Foundation and will promote cooperation between higher education institutions for innovation during the European Higher Education Networking Summit in Milan in November.
