We are glad to announce that, after its approval in November 2020, garagErasmus Foundation and Erasmus+ INDIRE started implementing THE + OF ERASMUS project through the Accelerator of Italian Language and Culture.

These four sessions offered the opportunity for exchange students who cannot join face to face courses of Italian to improve their basic-intermediate level of Italian and widen their knowledge about Italy thanks to the wonderful team of professors of the Dante Alighieri Language Institute of Recanati: Valentina Andreucci, Gianni Balbini, Angelo Liberati, Anna Poeti and Valeria Savi.

An Introductory session of the Accelerator was held on 22 December 2020. 162 students from all over the world had the opportunity to improve their grammar skills in a lesson focusing on determinate and indeterminate articles, about one of the most popular Italian traditions (“l’aperitivo”) and the way Italian people celebrate Christmas (“Il Natale”), including Italian typical food for this period.

The first round of sessions was held in January 2021: the first one was organised on Friday 15 January 2021. In that case, lectures focused on the Italian prepositions of place, one of the most common verbal times in Italian (“il passato prossimo”), Italian wines and the special relationship between the city of Bologna and pasta. 229 attendees joined the Webinar.

On the following day, on Saturday 16 January 2021 we hosted the second session of the round including masterclasses about Italian pronouns, on how to pronounce one of the most difficult Italian phonemes (“gli”!) and introduced us two of the most beautiful regions in Italy: Marche & Umbria. After that, the 117 attendees had the opportunity to know how Giotto changed the parameters of Italian Art.

The last January Webinar was held in Saturday 23 January 2021. 140 participants joined it, and it included lectures about Italian fashion and how the designer Elsa Schiaparelli revolutionised it, the imperfect verbal time and Italian pronouns and the multiple ways to combine them.

Stay tuned for the upcoming sesions of the Accelerator in March 2021!
