On 20-21 October 2022, the first Higher Education European Networking Summit organised by garagErasmus took place in Brussels. The event saw the participation of 30 people, between experts and representatives of Higher Education Institutions, resulting in two days of intense activities and a fruitful exchange of ideas, opinions and best practices.

DG EAC Team Leader – Higher Education / Erasmus + Vito Borrelli kicked off the first day fueling a discussion on the recent developments of the Erasmus+ programme, aimed at making international mobility more inclusive, while a videomessage MEP Fabio Massimo Castaldo called attention to the importance of the recognition of soft skills and the great contribution of the Erasmus+ programme on this matter. The discussions were then followed by short presentations by the Higher Education Institutions present and the activities of the World Café on European networking and Project Applications, where the working groups were able to discuss the present and future of international mobility.

The second day of the event was opened by Fanny Lutz, Director of the Erasmus National Agency in Belgium AEF (French Speaking Community), followed by the discussion-panel held by Giorgio Marinoni, Manager of Higher Education and Internationalisation at International Association of Universities, on Internationalisation of higher education in the covid-19 era: virtual and hybrid internationalisation, challenges and opportunities. The Summit ended with thematic tables on the topics of OLS, EU Academy, Beneficiary Module, Learning Agreement and Erasmus Without Papers, Micro-Credentials and ECTS recognition issues and the presentation of the findings.
