On 10-12 July over 500 people took part in the “Italy of Tomorrow – Labs for Italy” project. It was the first Hackathon experiment organised by garagErasmus Foundation: more than 80 professionals -most of them Erasmus Alumni-, invested their time to a Hackathon to search innovative solutions for tomorrow’s Italy. garagErasmus congratulates all the participants for the outstanding ideas and projects they proposed.

Many partners got involved during all the phases of the process including Indire, the Italian Erasmus+ National Agency, the National Youth Agency of Italy and many of our foundation members including Assolombarda, Politecnico di Milano, University of Pavia, University of Rome Tor Vergata, University of Pisa, University of Siena or Ubi Banca, among others. From gE would like to sincerely thank them all for their support.

During 48h hours participants, tutors and mentors had the opportunity to collaborate on over twenty working tables developing innovative ideas to be implemented in the future, showing an extraordinary sense of farsightedness. Hence, several projects were focusing on a wide range of topics such as sustainable mobility, fake news or the challenges of circular economy and urban mobility. Tutors from the private sector and universities backgrounds offered their support to the teams developing their ideas.

The jury -gE Foundation was represented by our President Francesco Cappè- had many difficulties in the selection process since there were many brilliant projects. Nevertheless; in the end the projects deemed “relevant” were “Green Bee” for the circular economy and “Triking” for urban mobility. These two projects will have a support path with Dock3, an incubator of the University of Roma Tre. The other relevant projects were “Tocket” in the Tourism and Booking sector which will be able to participate in the Entrepreneurial Academy of 012 Factory and the “JustPicked” project for food and sustainability which will be able to develop a first prototype version of their proposed app together with the Digital Lever company.
